Algoma University's Board of Governors (the Board) is pleased to announce the confirmed membership for the 2025-2026 year, as ratified at the June 23, 2025 Board of Governors meeting. For the 2025-2026 cycle, the Board will be chaired by Rob Battisti, with Kate Lamb serving as Vice-Chair and Paul Quesnele as Secretary.
Returning and newly confirmed external Board members include Arjun Batra, Rob Battisti, Cecilia Bruno (appointed through the Lieutenant Governor in Council), Ian Grant, Sonja Kosuta, Kate Lamb, Margaret Mah, Rajat Marwah, Taylor Sayers, and Chancellor Mario Turco. Each of these board members bring a broad range of professional expertise and community-based experience that will support the continued advancement of the University's financial sustainability and Special Mission.
Internal members of the Board for this year include Heather Douglas as the Non-Teaching Staff Governor, Dr. Dwayne Keough as the Teaching Staff Governor, Dr. Nikki Shaw as the Senate Member Governor, and Vrusha Rangrej as the Student Governor, Algoma University Student Union (AUSU).
Algoma University extends sincere thanks to all departing Board members for their time, insights, and dedication. Student Governors representatives Domanique Camara (Shingwauk Anishinaabe Students' Association) and Minion Paul (AUSU) contributed valuable student perspectives while completing their undergraduate studies. Jonathon Cutz, Non-Teaching Staff Governor, offered thoughtful input on operational and student support matters.
After three years of committed service, External Governor Kelli-Ann Lemieux departs following a term as Chair. Her leadership and governance expertise were instrumental in supporting the University through a period of strategic growth and change.
The Board would like to offer their deepest thanks to Dr. Donna Rogers, who concludes her term on the Board of Governors alongside her service as Interim President and Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Rogers has led the University through a critical period with vision, grace, and deep respect for the University's Special Mission and values.
