At the September 9, 2025 Meeting of the Board, District School Board Ontario North East Trustees approved a leave of absence for Trustee Cindy Pye-Reasbeck. Trustee Pye-Reasbeck's leave will be in effect from September 15 to December 15, 2025.
As part of this transition, Trustee Pye-Reasbeck has also stepped down as Chair of the Board, effective September 15. The Board extends its appreciation to Trustee Pye-Reasbeck for her service and leadership.
The Board of Trustees has appointed Jonathan Byer, current Vice-Chair, to serve as Chair of the Board effective September 16, 2025. Trustee Crystal Hewey has been appointed as Vice-Chair, also effective September 16.
Families and community members are encouraged to continue using the process outlined on the DSB1 website to address any questions or concerns about their child's education.
