Isabelle Daoust Appointed as Secretary General, Governance and University Life

Saint Paul University is proud to announce the appointment of Isabelle Daoust as Secretary General, Governance and University Life. Her first day in office will be Monday, April 13.

"I am delighted to welcome Isabelle Daoust to the Saint Paul University leadership team. She brings a combination of extensive senior management experience, a legal background, and a strong commitment to social justice. I am confident that she will be an asset to the university for years to come," shared Louis Patrick Leroux, Rector of Saint Paul University.

"I am thrilled to join Saint Paul University and to serve its student community. At a time of great uncertainty in the world, universities like SPU play a vital role in preparing thoughtful, engaged leaders grounded in human dignity, dialogue, and a commitment to the common good," said Isabelle.

In her new role, Isabelle will be responsible for matters related to university governance (regulations, coordination of the Board of Governors and its committees) and will also oversee the following departments: Human Resources, the Indigenous Centre, Pastoral Services, and the Student Success Hub. She will also serve as the administration's point of contact for student associations and clubs. Human relationships are at the heart of her work.

About Isabelle

Isabelle Daoust is a seasoned leader with more than 30 years of experience in law, government, public policy, communications, and humanitarian work. She has held senior leadership roles including Deputy Chief Executive at the Canadian Bar Association, Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to federal cabinet ministers, and Director General at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Isabelle also spent nearly two decades with the Red Cross, working internationally and serving vulnerable communities across three continents.

An executive coach, she is deeply committed to mentorship and community service. She volunteers as a mentor, supporting emerging leaders and sharing her experience to help them realize their full potential.
