The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is excited to announce the appointment of Sarah Devereaux as the new Superintendent of Business and Treasurer. Sarah is a familiar face within our community, having dedicated 16 years of service to the Board. For the last seven years, she has excelled as the Manager of Finance, and she is now ready to step into this vital executive leadership role.

As the Superintendent of Business and Treasurer, Sarah will oversee the strategic direction of several departments that keep our schools running smoothly every day: Finance, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Facilities, and Transportation. Beyond managing these portfolios, Sarah will work closely with the Senior Executive Team and the Board of Trustees to shape policy, guide district-wide operations and support professional learning.
Sarah is a deeply faith-filled leader whose work is firmly grounded in our Board's mission and strategic priorities. She brings an impressive and professional background to the role including: Chartered Accountant Designation, Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, Payroll Compliance Certifications, and has completed the Catholic Supervisory Officers Qualification Program.
"Sarah's transition into this role is a testament to her incredible wealth of experience and her unwavering commitment to our students and families," says Director of Education Karen Tigani.
"She embraces our community wholeheartedly and is uniquely prepared to lead our operations into a bright future."
Sarah will take the helm following the retirement of Superintendent Mary-Ellen Ducharme in April 2026. We thank Mary-Ellen for over 17 years of dedicated service which she provided with grace, humility, prudence and wisdom to our board. We look forward to the energy and expertise Sarah will bring to this transition.
Please join us in wishing Mary-Ellen Ducharme all the best in her retirement and offering Sarah Devereaux our warmest congratulations as she prepares to embark on this exciting new chapter!
