The Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lissa Foster as its new Executive Director, effective December 1, 2026.

Foster brings more than 20 years of leadership, board governance, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement experience to CACE. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, where she worked closely with a national Board of Directors, academic institutions, and partners across Canada. Her career also includes key roles in community relations, corporate communications, event fundraising and conference planning at local, provincial and national levels in the financial, nonprofit and community-based training sectors.
"Lissa's track record of supporting volunteer leadership, advancing organizational priorities and building strong, meaningful relationships makes her an exceptional fit for our organization," said Stéphanie Comeau, President of CACE. "Her vision and expertise will be assets as we continue to support and elevate education communicators across Canada."
"I'm honoured to step into this role and support members who play an important role in the education sector," said Foster. "I look forward to building on the association's strong foundation, collaborating with the national Board of Directors, connecting with members and partners, and advancing the strategic priorities of the association."
The appointment follows the conclusion of Ryan Strang's successful five-year tenure as Executive Director. During his time with CACE, he made significant contributions to the association, including supporting successful national conferences, driving membership growth, increasing sponsorship revenue, leading a comprehensive rebrand, and advancing the implementation of CACE's strategic plan.
"On behalf of the Board, I extend our sincere thanks to Ryan for his five years of dedicated service to CACE," added Comeau. "His leadership and accomplishments have strengthened the association and positioned us well for continued success."
