Conestoga will welcome athletes, coaches, officials and spectators to the Student Recreation Centre this summer as part of the 2026 Ontario Summer Games.
The Games will take place from July 30 to August 2 at venues across Waterloo Region, bringing together youth athletes from across Ontario to compete in multi-sport events that celebrate athletic development, community connection and sport excellence.
Conestoga will host karate and table tennis competitions at the Student Recreation Centre, located at the Kitchener - Doon campus. The award-winning facility will serve as one of several post-secondary and community venues supporting the Games throughout the region.
Karate competitors will take part in a sport that emphasizes striking techniques, blocks and disciplined movement, with athletes competing in kata, or forms, and kumite, or sparring. Table tennis will also be part of the Games sport lineup, giving young athletes the opportunity to compete in a fast-paced provincial competition environment.
More than 4,200 youth athletes aged 12 to 18 are expected to compete in 23 sports at venues across Waterloo Region. The Games will also welcome coaches, officials, volunteers, families and spectators, creating opportunities for community members to support the next generation of Ontario athletes.
