GEORGIAN COLLEGE
Georgian College and CFB Borden sign agreement to deepen education, training opportunities for military-connected learners

April 1, 2026

Georgian College and Canadian Forces Base Borden, home to the Military Personnel Generation Training Group announced a formalized and expanded partnership through a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC), reinforcing the shared commitment both organizations have in supporting military-connected learners, workforce development, and community engagement.

The MOC establishes a framework to guide current and future collaboration between the college and CFB Borden, reflecting the evolution of the long-standing relationship between Georgian and CFB Borden to advance innovative education, training, and applied learning opportunities aligned with national defence priorities.

CFB Borden is the Canadian Armed Forces' largest training facility, delivering education and training in trades such as logistics, maintenance, communications, health services and administration that support frontline sea, land and air operations.

Under this MOC, Georgian College and CFB Borden will work across a range of initiatives, including enhanced educational pathways for military-connected learners, recognition of military training and experience, applied research, work-integrated learning opportunities, joint professional development, and community engagement activities.

The agreement also establishes a Collaboration Council, bringing together representatives from both organizations to identify opportunities, coordinate initiatives, and guide the strategic direction of the partnership.

Georgian College's designation as a military-connected college in 2022 underscores its commitment to serving Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families through flexible and supportive learning pathways. This strengthened collaboration with CFB Borden further advances those efforts and broadens the impact of the partnership in the community and across the region.
