Mohawk College and Wrexham University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in academic programming, athletics, and international experiences.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment to creating learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom and connect students to a broader global community. As institutions respond to an increasingly interconnected world, this partnership will support the development of innovative, cross-disciplinary opportunities that prepare students for global success.
"This partnership is unique for Mohawk College because it intentionally integrates academics and athletics to enrich global learning," said Paul Armstrong, President Mohawk College. "By collaborating with Wrexham University, we are creating opportunities for students to develop skills, build confidence, and broaden their perspectives in ways that go far beyond the classroom."
This partnership is part of Mohawk College's flagship Beyond Borders program, which provides students with international learning experiences designed to broaden their understanding of the world and their place within it. Through this MOU, both institutions will explore joint initiatives including student exchanges, faculty collaboration, applied research, and athletic engagement opportunities, offering students a more holistic and global educational experience.
"We are delighted to partner with Mohawk College, strengthening our shared commitment to global collaboration, student opportunity, and the development of skills that will have real impact across our communities. This agreement represents an exciting step forward in creating meaningful international pathways for our learners," said Joe Yates, Vice Chancelor Wrexham.
The MOU also strengthens the longstanding relationship between Canada and the United Kingdom in education, public service, and innovation, reinforcing a commitment to collaboration, exchange, and student success.
