NEW BRUNSWICK
Results of public consultations for education plans

February 6, 2026

The government has released reports summarizing engagement from the public, partners in education and stakeholders concerning new education plans for the anglophone and francophone sectors.

"I want to thank each and every New Brunswicker who shared their insight for the new education plans," said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Claire Johnson. "Their feedback is invaluable as we collaborate on the future of our education system."

Consultations took place last August through November, with feedback gathered through in-person and virtual meetings, online surveys and written and email correspondence. Engagement sessions were also held with stakeholders from the early learning and child-care and education sectors, including current staff, school districts, professional associations and post-secondary institutions.

The reports summarize the almost 11,000 responses received by the anglophone sector and more than 3,000 responses received by the francophone sector.

"We are committed to creating a collective vision for education, along with our partners in the early learning and child-care sector, teachers and other education professionals, stakeholders, experts and parents," said Johnson. "These new education plans will play a significant role in the direction of New Brunswick education for years to come."

The current 10-year plans, entitled Everyone at Their Best for the anglophone sector and Donnons à nos enfants une longueur d'avance for the francophone sector, were released in 2016. The new education plans, reflecting the unique realities and needs of each linguistic sector, will be released this spring.

Feedback on the reports will be accepted by email until March 6. Comments on the anglophone sector report should be directed to engage.EECD-EPRE@gnb.ca, while comments on the francophone sector report should be sent to consultation.education@gnb.ca.
