Science North was buzzing today (Feb 10) with creativity, problem-solving, and robotics as students from across Greater Sudbury competed in the first ever Robot Builder Showdown, a hands-on robotics competition focused on coding, engineering, and teamwork.
The event brought together grade four to six students from the Sudbury Catholic District School Board (SCDSB) and the Rainbow District School Board (RDSB) for a full day of collaborative competition.
A total of 20 teams, each made up of three students, were tasked with a fast-paced build challenge using LEGO Spike Essential kits. Teams designed, built, and programed robots to complete mining-inspired coding challenges.
