EAGLES WIN GOLD
Women's Basketball Makes History

March 23, 2026

In a decisive win against NAIT, Eagles basketball took home the gold medal at this year's ACAC Provincial Championships at Briercrest College their first title in program history.

"A big part of our program growth in the last few years is that we don't have a one-man team," says head coach Torey Hill. "Everyone's contributing, all our players want to be here. Heading into nationals, I'm super excited for this team."

This will be the last season for senior athletes Aneilia Ayotte (Environmental Studies '26), Megan Aleman (Interdisciplinary Science '26), and Jamie Bunting (Elementary Education '27). Both Ayotte and Aleman achieved ACAC All-Conference status this year, and each athlete has broken several ACAC records and personal bests.

The team heads to CCAA Nationals in Montreal, Quebec March 18 to 21.

Badminton Defends Championship Title

Eagles badminton mixed doubles team Mahdi Ahmadi (Business 27) and Melissa Roque (Biology 28) dominated the CCAA National Championships to win gold for the second year in a row. Ahmadi and Roque were also awarded ACAC Players of the Year, recognizing their outstanding athletic achievement throughout the season. This is Ahmadi's third consecutive Player of the Year award and Roque's second.

At the ACAC Badminton Provincial Championships, men's doubles athletes Vivek Kodi (Computing Science 27) and Vincent Nguyen (Psychology 29) also clinched bronze at the ACAC Badminton Provincial Championships. Congratulations to all our Eagles athletes on a great season!
