FORT MCMURRAY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Fort McMurray Public School Division and Community Partners Sign Fair Notice Protocol

June 19, 2026

The Fort McMurray Public School Division (FMPSD) recently hosted a signing ceremony for the Fair Notice protocol, bringing together key organizations dedicated to maintaining safety and support across our community.

We are proud to announce that several community partners have officially signed the agreement. These dedicated partners include Some Other Solutions, Waypoints, The Hub Family Resource Centre, Boys and Girls Club, Autism Society, and Recovery Alberta.

While several partners signed at the ceremony, others are in the process of finalizing their commitment. The Wood Buffalo RCMP, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Nistawoyou Association Friendship Centre have agreed to the protocol and are waiting to receive an electronic copy to finalize their signatures. Additionally, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) remains actively involved and is currently awaiting final legal approval before they can officially sign.

The Fair Notice protocol is a vital step in ensuring a consistent and collaborative approach to safety and threat assessment within our schools and the broader Fort McMurray area. By working together, these organizations are committing to a shared responsibility to support our youth, families, and community members.

For a complete explanation of the protocol and how it will positively impact our community, please review the attached Fair Notice letter.
