The Brian Mulroney Institute of Government (Mulroney Institute) and the Frank McKenna Centre for Leadership are proud to welcome Canadian author and award-winning educator Dr. Jennifer Fraser who will share insights from her new book, The Gaslit Brain: Protect Your Brain From the Lies of Bullying, Gaslighting, and Institutional Complicity.
In a world increasingly shaped by disinformation, political division, and toxic leadership, The Gaslit Brain is the first book linking gaslighting directly to measurable neurological damage - and to offer science-backed strategies to counter it.

Drawing on over 10 years of studying the neuroscience of abuse cultures, Dr. Fraser presents the evidence that gaslighting and psychological manipulation don't just harm emotionally - they physically alter the brain, eroding trust, critical thinking, and resilience.
"The Gaslit Brain is a made-in-Canada initiative alerting the global community about the serious dangers of bullying and gaslighting to our brains. The neuroscience is clear and full of solutions," says Dr. Fraser. "It is imperative for us to get clearsighted about the path forward so that we can have healthier, happier, more high-performing brains. Leadership in the 21st century must change for the betterment of all peoples and our planet."
A groundbreaking, must-read for our times, The Gaslit Brain reveals how gaslighting and manipulation change how our brains work and shows us how to fight back with science and self-awareness.
