CARLTON TRAIL COLLEGE
Carlton Trail College Supports Saskatchewan-Made AI Pilot

August 11, 2026

Carlton Trail College recently participated as an early pilot partner for TrackPoint.ai, a Saskatchewan-developed artificial intelligence platform designed to help users practice and improve communication skills.

Founded by Jay Shah, TrackPoint.ai began as a tool to help people prepare for MBA and job interviews and has since expanded into an AI-driven communications coaching platform for presentations, public speaking, interviews, and workplace scenarios. The platform provides users with practice scenarios and feedback on areas such as clarity, speech pace, pronunciation, and delivery.

Through the Made in Saskatchewan Technology program, Carlton Trail College used the software with select programs and provided real-time reporting and user feedback to support product improvements. The pilot gave the College and opportunity to test emerging technology in an applied learning environment while helping a Saskatchewan startup refine its platform for educational and training settings.

For the College, the project reflected a practical approach to innovation: adopting technology where it can support student learning, while working directly with a regional company to improve how that technology performs in real-world settings. It also aligned with the College's role in supporting workforce development across east-central Saskatchewan.

TrackPoint.ai has been recognized by Innovation Saskatchewan and the University of Saskatchewan for its growth from a student-formed idea into an AI platform serving education and corporate training needs. Shah, a Univeresity of Saskatchewan graduate, has credited Saskatchewan's innovation ecosystem, including pilot partners such as the College, with helping move the platform from concept to commercialization.

Carlton Trail College's participation in the pilot highlights the value of partnerships between education and tech companies, particularly when both sides can contribute to pracical solutions that support learners, instructors, and future workforce needs.
