NEW BRUNSWICK
School support staff vote to ratify new collective agreement

March 27, 2026

Members of the union representing school support staff have voted in favour of a new collective agreement with the provincial government.

"We are pleased that members of CUPE 2745 have ratified their tentative agreement, which has been pending a vote for almost a year," said Finance and Treasury Board Minister René Legacy. "We appreciate the challenges faced by both the union and the employer, but are pleased that the vote was brought to the membership and ratified. I also want to recognize the vital role these workers play in our education system each day."

CUPE 2745 represents more than 6,400 employees, including school and district administrative assistants, education assistants, school intervention workers and school library workers.

Further details will be shared once the agreement has been signed.
