Northern Lights Public Schools (NLPS) is pleased to announce that Damian Saliken has been appointed Assistant Principal of Nelson Heights School for the 2026-2027 school year.
"Damian is focused on building positive relationships and providing students with opportunities to succeed in all aspects of school life," said Superintendent Rick Cusson. "He is deeply committed to improving achievement by finding new ways to meet their learning needs."
Saliken joined NLPS in September 2024 as a teacher at Cold Lake Junior High. In addition to his teaching duties, Saliken has also led various school clubs and coached athletic teams. Prior to that, Saliken taught in schools in Saskatchewan at a variety of different grade levels.
"Cold Lake is one of the most welcoming and kind communities I have ever lived in. As a result, I am beyond excited for this opportunity at Nelson Heights. It is a dedicated school with amazing staff, students, and families whom I look forward to working alongside," said Saliken. "I look forward to growing and leading within the school and community as we build an excellent foundation for each student to find success within our communities."
