KENORA CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
Students Show Creativity and Awareness During Cybersecurity Month

November 6, 2025

Throughout October, schools across the Kenora Catholic District School Board participated in Cybersecurity Month and Digital Citizenship Week, learning how to stay safe, respectful, and responsible online.

Across classrooms, students explored topics like protecting personal information, recognizing scams, creating strong passwords, and being mindful of how they engage with others in digital spaces. Staff encouraged meaningful discussions and hands-on activities to help students become confident and thoughtful digital citizens.

As part of this learning, students were invited to share their own tips and messages for staying safe online, and many participated by creating original artwork, videos, and posters promoting cybersecurity awareness.

To wrap up the month, we went around and asked students to share their best online safety tips, check out the video to see their creative and fun responses!

A huge congratulations goes out to our Cybersecurity Awareness Contest winners,  Lourayne, Jade, and Laine from St. Thomas Aquinas High School!
Your creativity and leadership remind us that everyone has a role to play in keeping our online communities safe.

Thank you to all students and educators across KCDSB for participating and helping us build a culture of safety, responsibility, and kindness online.
