On May 28, Statistics Canada released the first results from the Full-time University and College Academic Staff System (FT-UCASS) for the 2025/2026 academic year.
This release includes data from 78 of the 109 public degree-granting institutions that had finalized data available by April 24, 2026. The final release for the 2025/2026 academic year, with data for all institutions, will be available in the fall of 2026. It will provide a detailed portrait of full-time academic staff in Canadian universities, including gender, age, academic rank, salary and administrative stipends, administrative responsibilities, and principal subject taught.
