MacEwan University is proud to announce the 2025 cohort of the TD Music Artist in Residence Program an intensive summer development opportunity for emerging Alberta musicians taking place from August 5-17. This year's program will support 18 artists from Edmonton, Calgary and across the province, representing a wide range of genres and styles.
MacEwan is also happy to announce that the program has been nominated for a Community Excellence Award by the Western Canadian Music Awards. Voting for the nominees closes on June 18 and the winners will be revealed in September.
The TD Music Artist in Residence at MacEwan University program is open to emerging songwriters, producers, beat-makers and band leaders who are residents of Alberta and are 18 years of age and over.
Accomplished educators and faculty members from MacEwan's Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications, along with support from MacEwan Department of Music alumni mentors, lead the workshops and master classes. Industry professionals contribute valuable insights in sessions covering entertainment law, music marketing, royalty streams, publishing and grant writing. The program also provides each participant with an opportunity to record in MacEwan University's state-of-the-art studios.
The program is supported by the Toronto Dominion Bank and their TD Ready Commitment grants. The program, which includes catering and accommodation at MacEwan Residence for those who require it, is offered at no charge to participants.

Now in its fourth year, the TD Music Artist in Residence at MacEwan provides hands-on training, mentorship, co-writing opportunities and industry sessions to support the next generation of Alberta's music creators.
