The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is proud to announce that Aryan, a Southwood Secondary School (SSS) student, has been named a 2026 Schulich Leader, receiving $120,000 in scholarship funding through Canada's most prestigious undergraduate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) scholarship program.

Aryan joins an esteemed network of STEM scholars at the University of Guelph, where he plans to study Computer Engineering. Drawn to STEM by his passion for problem-solving and understanding how things work, Aryan discovered a love for coding and computer science, appreciating the way the field combines logic, creativity, and continuous learning.
Throughout his time at SSS, Aryan has shown strong academic dedication and willingness to challenge himself. With encouragement from teachers and mentors, he took part in science competitions, gaining valuable experience along the way. He is deeply grateful to the teachers and guidance staff whose support helped him pursue ambitious goals and reach this milestone.
Aryan's long-term vision extends beyond his studies. His goal is to develop solutions that make a meaningful difference in people's everyday lives and contribute positively to the future of technology.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Aryan on this incredible accomplishment. His achievements are a reflection of his hard work, dedication to learning, and the supportive communities that helped him to experience success.
