The names of those receiving Excellence in Education Awards for the Acadian and francophone education system were announced.
The awards recognize early childhood educators and directors, as well as teachers and principals, for their leadership and their contribution in advancing education and achieving the objectives of the francophone education system.
"Congratulations to all the recipients," said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Claire Johnson. "Your commitment and perseverance in supporting young people make a real difference in our francophone communities. Every day, you help them grow and thrive. It is demanding work, but you put your heart into it, and you are a true source of inspiration to everyone around you."
Nominations were evaluated by the francophone school districts, and recipients were selected by the provincial Excellence in Education Awards committee.
The award recipients are:
Francophone nord-est school district
- Nadia Bourgeois - Garderie L'univers des petits papillons, Hautes-Terres (Saint-Isidore district)
- Manon Landry - École Carrefour étudiant, Belle-Baie (Beresford district)
- Carole Hébert - École Le Tournesol, Belle-Baie (Petit-Rocher district)
Francophone nord-ouest school district
- Cynthia Lagassé - Garderie Zamibulles, Edmundston
- Mia Desjardins-Michaud - École élémentaire Sacré-Cœur, Grand Falls
- Jason Thibault - Polyvalente A.-J.-Savoie, Saint-Quentin
Francophone sud school district
- Annick Beaulieu - Garderie Univers d'enfants, Moncton
- Christina Delaney - École Le Marais, Dieppe
- David LeBlanc - École Notre-Dame, Beausoleil (Notre-Dame district)
The awards will be presented during a ceremony that will take place in Fredericton in November.
