Through this partnership, University College of the North (UCN) is offering an exciting new dual credit opportunity for eligible Grade 11 and 12 students interested in pursuing a degree in Education. Click the headline for full details!
Students can take university-level Education courses while still in high school, earning credits that may count toward both their high school diploma and a UCN university program.
Courses Offered
EDU.3000 - Introduction to Teaching
January 11 - March 12
EDU.3045 - Indigenous Perspectives for Teaching & Learning
April 5 - June 11
Classes are held in the evening, once or twice a week, depending on the schedule developed with participating students.
How the Courses Work
- Taught by a UCN faculty member
- Delivered online, outside of regular school hours
- Scheduled once or twice per week based on student availability
- Successful completion counts toward high school graduation and toward UCN's Kenanow Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts programs
- Course offerings are subject to sufficient student enrolment
Cost
- Tuition is waived by UCN for students enrolled in dual credit courses
- Students are responsible for UCN's application fee and required materials/supplies (e.g., books, computer, supplies)
