The Vanier Architectural Technology department celebrates the end of the year with food, fun and scholarships

The Vanier College Architectural Technology department held its annual BBQ on May 23rd, where over 200 students, staff and guests celebrated the end of another school year with food, scholarships, prizes and activities. Guests included André Morin, Member of the National Assembly for Acadie; Emmanuella Lambropoulos, Member of Parliament for St-Laurent; Alan de Sousa, mayor of St-Laurent; Aref Salem and Vana Nazarian, city councilors for St-Laurent, as well as many benefactors.

Congratulations to all the scholarship winners:

  • John Pitre Scholarship winners Nina Cardillo who received an $800 scholarship for academic excellence and Sebastian Solano Monge, winner of $1200 for academic transformation presented by John Pitre, alumnus and longtime benefactor.
  • Luke Myles, who received the Robert Dupuis Scholarship of $500, presented by Robert Dupuis, a retired teacher and program benefactor.
  • Paola Midley Candio, winner of the inaugural BLTA award for $500, presented by BLTA associate architect Denis Blais, and alumna Isabelle Ly.
  • Matteo Fisher, winner of the Siamak Barin Memorial Scholarship for $500, presented by Calina Olari (in collaboration with COEX, in honour of the company's late founder Siamak Barin).
  • Chelsea Triassi, winner of the CBC Aluminum scholarship for $250, for the student who has shown leadership skills & student life engagement while studying in Architectural Technology.
  • Marissa Mastracci and Patrick Cloutier, winners of the David Reich Memorial Scholarship for $500 each, presented by Jenny Reich, daughter of the late David Reich.
  • Christina Vuong and Lucas Ortiz, winners of the André Morin Scholarships, for $500 each, presented by Member of the National Assembly André Morin.
  • Javon Tate, Léa-Rose André, Nana Bagigah and Sofia Rigas, winners of the Tony Mazzilli Memorial Scholarships (in collaboration with Magil Construction) for $400 each, presented by Eddy Mazzilli.

The department is grateful for the support from the Member of Parliament, the Member of the National Assembly, the borough of St-Laurent, as well as from our private-sector donors Figurr Architects Collective, Broccolini Construction, Magil Construction, SAJO, Planit Construction, BLTA, Groupe Lessard, Groupe Venise, and CGC Inc.
