National education partner Let's Talk Science is rolling out an expanded suite of innovative, free, bilingual STEM programming. Designed to enrich its existing suite of programming, this lineup gives educators even more turnkey, Canadian-context tools that foster student agency and connect hands-on discovery and inquiry with space exploration, sustainable agriculture, forensic analysis, and high-demand career pathways.
For over three decades, Let's Talk Science has partnered with educators across every province and territory from Early Years to Grade 12/Sec V. All digital resources, hands-on activities, national challenges, and professional learning offerings are 100% free of charge and fully accessible in English and French.
Fall 2026 Programming Highlights
New Future of Food Program Portfolio: Available nationwide, the new portfolio engages youth with one of the most critical global challenges; sustainable food systems and agri-food innovation. Students of all ages can explore how cutting-edge STEM, agricultural technology, and space-based research are driving future food security on Earth and in extreme environments.
Bring an Astronaut to School by Connecting Live to Space (Canadian Space Agency Collaboration): Let's Talk Science offers interactive space inquiry resources, and this December, educators registered for a Future of Food program may have their school selected for a live Space-to-Earth connection with CSA astronaut Joshua Kutryk aboard the International Space Station.
New STEM Series for Grades 5-10 (Releasing by End of September):
- Independent Student Learning: Self-directed courses developed in collaboration with ChatterHigh to build critical thinking, self-directed research, and student agency.
- Murdoch in the Classroom (Mystery Solving): Inspired by the hit Canadian TV show Murdoch Mysteries (Shaftesbury) these engaging, narrative-driven lessons frame STEM challenges as mysteries waiting to be cracked. Students are encouraged to lean in, gather evidence, think critically and solve problems. Complete with curriculum aligned lesson plans.
Classroom-Favourites: Gamified Learning & Hands-On Science:
- Tomatosphere & Tomatosphere Adventure (Minecraft): Tomatosphere continues as a signature space biology project that examines seed germination in extreme environments. It is complemented with Tomatosphere Adventure, a Minecraft Education game that immerses students in space agriculture, photosynthesis, and Martian greenhouse engineering, developed in collaboration with Logics Academy and the CSA.
- Living Space & Action Projects: Hands-on environmental monitoring programs (including Travel4Climate) connecting classroom data collection to real-world ecological stewardship.
- Proven Career Discovery with the Let's Talk Careers Competition (in collaboration with ChatterHigh, NGEN and NavCan): Returning this fall, this high-impact national career exploration challenge engages Grade 6-12 students in daily, self-discovery modules. Youth explore emerging STEM fields, skilled trades, and post-secondary pathways while earning bursaries and cash prizes for their schools.
Foundational Learning & Educator Support:
- Turnkey resources spanning play-based Early Years discovery to senior secondary data science, supported by interactive LIVE STEM classroom broadcasts and flexible, 30-minute Lightning Learning professional development sessions for teachers.
